Emperors new clothes

"The only man who behaves sensibly is my tailor; he takes my measurements anew every time he sees me, while all the rest go on with their old measurements and expect me to fit them." With that in mind, scope Cedric Delsaux's 'The Dark lens' collection... brilliant

The temple sessions

I've spent the last week in temple studios with STRAYS laying down 8 tracks for our first record. It was a pretty full on experience but it was challenging and fulfilling. We were trying to nail a full track per day, and our producer Craig was only accepting full live individual takes - no overdubs or drop ins to fix dodgy playing allowed - you had to play your part start to finish, and if you weren't happy with your take, you had to go again from the start til you nailed it. It was frustrating but creatively inspiring, and it all added up to 15 hours days of intensity, starting at 11am and finishing around 2 or 3am, only to get up and get straight back on it in a few hours. We finished up the week with a gig at the Night and Day, and now I cant wait to hear the first mixes of what we've put down. It honestly felt like we were working on something really special and I hope it sounds that way to. Here's some photos from the week, studio shots from me and Allan Wilson, and gig shots from Rivie Verran. Willys going to cut a vid clip of his temple time with us soon to. Yeeharrrr...

Save the Whales

It's hard to believe now but 40 years ago many species of whales were on the brink of extinction. Thanks to the hard work of the environmental movement commercial whaling was for the most part banned worldwide in 1986. Whats even harder to believe however, is that this week governments around the world are deciding wether to lift the ban and allow the mass slaughter of whales again. Summers come early

Despite the volcanic activity to the North and snow in Scotland, the last week has been some of the most chilled out warm weather I can remember here in Ireland. To stay productive, a couplea nights ago the ever keen Ferg decided to grab a longboard and paddle 20 odd k's down the coast. Me and Wilbot joined him for the cliff lined part of the cruise, on a ski mind. It was so surreal under those prehistoric looking monoliths man. Still and eerie, no real swell, the clearest water, spooky caves, thousands of weird birds, and even a few oversized dolphins. It was a pretty special evenin...
